This Privacy Policy applies to the SimpleGoal mobile application ("the App") developed by Yi He ("the Developer"). Your privacy matters to us, and we are committed to protecting your personal information through reasonable and effective measures in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Please read this policy carefully before using the App. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

What We Collect and Why

To provide the service

1. Device information — Your device model, OS version, unique device identifier, and app version. This helps us keep the App running smoothly and deliver a reliable experience.
2. Usage data — How often and how long you use the App, along with general usage patterns. We use this to understand how people use the App and improve the experience over time.
3. Camera & photo library — Only when you grant permission. Used for taking photos and picking images to build your vision board. You can revoke this at any time in your device settings without affecting core functionality.
4. Calendar — Only when you grant permission. Used to sync your goals with your system calendar. You can revoke this at any time without affecting core functionality.

To keep things secure

To protect you and other users, we may collect and process device information, transaction data, and log data to help identify security risks such as fraud, phishing, and unauthorized access.

When we do process personal information, we apply de-identification techniques so the data cannot be traced back to you individually. This anonymized data helps us understand usage patterns and improve service quality.

Other purposes

If we ever need to use your information for a purpose not described in this policy, we will ask for your consent first.

We may collect personal information without your consent only where required or permitted by applicable law — for example, to comply with legal obligations, protect vital interests, or fulfill a contract with you.

Permissions the App May Request

SimpleGoal only asks for permissions when you actually use the related feature. You can manage all permissions in your device settings at any time. Declining a permission will not affect basic functionality like creating or tracking goals.

1. Camera — To take photos for your goals or vision board.
2. Photo library (read) — To pick images from your library.
3. Photo library (write) — To save images to your library.
4. Calendar — To sync goals to your system calendar.
5. Notifications — To send you goal reminders.
6. Network access — To save and sync your data when a connection is available.

Children's Privacy

If you are under 14 years old, please use the App with a parent or guardian's guidance. We only collect the minimum information required and do not knowingly collect personal data from children without parental consent.

How We Handle Permissions

• Minimal by default — We only request a permission when you first use the feature that needs it.
• Your control — You can change or revoke any permission at any time through your device settings.
• Data protection — All data associated with permissions is stored securely and used solely to deliver functionality. We do not use it for profiling or targeted advertising.
• Limited impact — Revoking a non-essential permission may limit specific features, but will never block you from using the App's core functions.

Opting Out

You can stop all data collection by simply uninstalling the App from your device.

Data Retention

Your data is stored locally on your device and in iCloud. We do not store your data on our servers. If you clear your iCloud data and uninstall the App, your data will be permanently deleted.
